The Trusted Partner for Blue Light Organisations.
Supporting emergency services for over 20 years with a sector-specific talent management platform. G-Cloud framework supplier.
Head Light as a Blue Light Partner
We’ve partnered with blue light organisations for over 20 years, helping them to identify and develop their internal talent. We know that they need a platform that’s robust and dependable yet evolves with changing needs – and what might be recommended in reports and frameworks.
Our business psychologists know police and fire services inside out. We’re true partners, not just suppliers. We listen to your feedback, spot emerging trends, and implement solutions fast.
We’re different from other talent management providers. We’re G-Cloud approved and ISO 27001 certified – reassurances that you’re in good hands and your data stays protected.
We work hand-in-hand with blue light services because we understand what they face every day.
The Blue Light User Group
We launched the Blue Light User Group 15 years ago.
We organise it, but it’s the talent leaders of police and fire services that host and run it.
We meet twice a year to share best practice in talent management across services and build on this through collaboration. We might look to develop a best practice guide, bringing together the insights from across the Group. Or design police- or fire-specific 360 questionnaires. Or create talent diagnostics and specific reporting that makes the job as talent leader easier.
Membership is through application or automatically as a user of our talent management platform. We’d love you to join.
Police Forces
We’ve worked with around 55% of police forces across the UK to help them identify talent and provide the framework for their PDR processes.
Our police-specific 360 and PDR questionnaires are relevant and configurable so that our customers present a credible and force-recognisable tool to their police officers and police staff.
The National Talent Development (NTDS) focuses on identifying and accelerating high-potential officers for senior leadership. It also addresses succession planning to ensure a pipeline of well-prepared candidates.
We know this will bring significant change for many forces. Let us work alongside you.
Fire and Rescue Services
The HMICFRS Report into the values and culture of service across England highlighted that 360-degree feedback as vital for fire and rescue services, featuring it in several of its recommendations across all services.
We’ve developed a fire service-specific version of our Talent 360 tool, built on the leadership standards for fire service leaders. It’s easy to complete and the data analytics are invaluable.
